Testing the Button

As we step into another New Year, time racing ahead of my control, I've been looking at practical matters and me 'elf and safety needs:

The men in uniforms unleashing hoses from their appliances are an added bonus, of course. Me finks the entertainment value is testament that even the mundane can become memorable when so nicely packaged. Where's a Smiley or an emoticon when you need it? Yup... I'm smiling... very wildly!

I know, I know... But when I said I was going to be nice this year, I didn't mean hanging up me trident in favour of being a Miss Nerdy Sensible Shoes! Come on... Wherever I may roam, or hide, I'll always be me!

Must get on and push a few buttons, now.

Happy New Year - 2012

I'm opening the door

For another New Year

Whether first footing

Or seeking shelter

My door is always open

To those that care and share

Here's hoping 2012 brings you, me and the whole wide world lots of love, peace and harmony.

Happy New Year

Is It Rain Dear?

If you didn't get what you wanted for Christmas, it may be because the reindeer were otherwise engaged.

Merry "Wot"mas

Am I the only one that has a disliking for this tasteless Christmas expression:

I know the celebrations at this time of year are in memory of  a bloke who was nailed to a cross, more than two thousand years ago, but is marking the celebrations of his torture with an "X" really appropriate? Whether you are a follower of Christianity, a  non-believer or just a not so mercenary banker, me finks the chap deserves a little more respect, especially since the Jesus legacy gives most people a couple of days paid time off work.

So whatever you have planned for the X-marking memory of Christ's torture, I hope you have a kissey, rather than a crossey-mas yuletide with your nearest and dearest.

Angels and Fairies

At this time of year with Christmas preparations in full throttle, it's nice to see angels in abundance. I kinda look at these little cherubs as being not too dissimilar to fairies. You see, they both have wings and they're the folk we send our thoughts of wanted wishes to in order to pave the way for happier times.

So here's wishing that all life's woes and worries get an angelic nod or wave of a magic wand and let the good times roll.

Abracadabra... Poof... What would you like for Christmas?

Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

Just having a pondering as to what I'd like for Christmas. I guess I don't really need much, to be honest, and I'm told this year's must have is a pink and purple perforated ping pong ball, but if you can't manage that, can I have a cruise ticket for this 'ere tub, please?

Thanking you, in advance, with lots and lots of love to share.
